Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, these homemade Belgian waffles are best eaten when freshly made. A perfect weekend brunch idea, featuring delicious waffles paired with fresh berries and honey.
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and butter until well combined. Fold in flour, yeast, salt and sugar until well incorporated.
2. Cover it with a cling wrap and let it stand for about 1 hour. Alternatively, refrigerate the batter overnight for a slower fermentation.
3. Heat up the waffle iron and brush it with some oil. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter onto the waffle iron (depending on the size of your waffle pan) and close the lid. Let it cook for about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Serve the waffles immediately with some berries and honey!
